Teresa Walsh

It is with great sadness that the family of Teresa Walsh announce her passing on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 85 years. 

Her strong presence will be deeply missed by her children, Ann and Raymond Walsh, all of her family as well as many friends.

Teresa was born and raised in Cork County, Ireland. She was the youngest of seven siblings, mom lived there until she married and moved to Sussex, England where she gave birth to Ann and Raymond. Teresa and family moved to Canada in 1965 and lived in Selkirk, MB, then settling in Winnipeg, MB a few years later.   

Mom finished her schooling and took care of her kids the best she could. Instilling pride, morals and honour in everything she did. Teresa went on to work at the Red Cross and was there for over 25 years working in various positions and finishing as the Director of Emergency Services. Many people benefitted from her work, whether it was a local person in need or people involved in a national emergency. After retirement, Teresa enjoyed a quiet life in her small senior’s community.

Teresa will be greatly and sadly missed by all her family and friends. Her love, kindness, generosity and strength will be remembered always. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
