Curtis McLeod Obituary

CURTIS MCLEOD

(Dirty)

November 18, 1998 ~ January 26, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Curtis James Martin Friesen McLeod on January 26, 2022 at the age of 23 years.

Curtis will be deeply missed by his mom, Amanda McLeod, his stepdad, David Barker; father, Kris Friesen (Rebecca); his siblings: Adrian, Pyra, Myka and Darian. His grandma Rose McLeod and his grandpa, Dennis McLeod along with his stepmom, Yvonne Bampoe. He will also be dearly missed by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

He is pre-deceased by his grandparents, Karin Friesen and Martin Friesen.

Curtis was a handsome, loving, caring, gentle person who loved to have fun with family and friends. He had such a great sense of humour, always smiling and laughing. Curtis wore his heart on his sleeve. He would help anyone, no questions asked, whenever you needed him he was always there for you. Even if it was just to listen, cry with you, or give you the most genuine hug, which he did give the best hugs!

He loved playing sports from volleyball, basketball, football and baseball. I must say he was good no matter what sport he played. I would have to say that baseball was his favourite after he joined the team Road Rockets. I was ecstatic with joy when he finally turned 18 and was able to play on the team that David and I played on. I just don’t know how that kid did it though, after working 12 hour days roofing in the sun, then came home got ready and played baseball. He had so much energy running in the outfield and did some amazing catches I must add. That kid also had an arm and boy could he throw that ball far. I must say baseball is not going to be the same, but now the Road Rockets have an angel in the outfield now.

Curtis also enjoyed his job as a Roofer. He started at the bottom and worked his way up. He was also starting to learn how to nail. He was so happy and proud of himself, he even went and got his own nail gun and carried that thing around with such pride and joy.  I was so proud of that kid, because he was such a hard worker, worked his butt off. He would also work on the weekends as well with Anderson Roofing, which he loved to do. He loved his Roofing family very much, you know who you are!

No matter what life threw at him he wouldn’t let it knock him down for long, he would get angry and cry but that kid always got back up and tried again. He would never give up.

Curtis you had a smile that would light up the room, and that contagious laugh that we will never ever forget. Even though your wings were ready, our hearts were not.

“ We will all miss you dearly,

so spread your wings and fly high my boy.

I love you with all my heart.

As long as I am living my baby you will be.

Until we meet again RIP Curtis.

Gone but you never will be forgotten.”

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place at a later date as arrangements are pending. Please check back for service dates and times. The family thanks you for your patience during this difficult time.
